i have noticed more and more boe letters and congregational letters that are written by the "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses".
letters from the society are supposed to come from the watch tower bible & tract society.

I often wonder the same thing. If what was truth then, is not truth now, and if this is God's perfect organization, then god must have changed his mind. I find it quite ironic that in over 2000 years, the basic structure of the bible is still intact, but in less than 150 years 90% of Dub belief is different. How does that work?

Thanks for your response. This topic seems to have brought me more questions than answers. From what you are saying, all dubs are irrelevant except as pack mules. It all seems to make sense now-but why doesn't anyone see it now? I get the impression that the annointed have almost become obsolete in this new generation of followers. They seem to be more active as "dead ressurected" ones than they ever did alive. The 1/1/07 WT still bugs me as to how they communicate with these dead ones. When I brought this Q up to a friend after that meeting (a complete coincidence that I was even there), he did not even remember the point. I had to show him in the WT what was said. Standard response-"I'll look that up."
Anyway, again thanks for the response and now I can better understand your thoughts on the matter.

i was suffering through an interminably long sunday p.m. public talk (we flip-flopped w/ the other cong--at least sunday a.m. was a little more tolerable because there was still some of the day left to do something).
the speaker was talking about "physical training being beneficial for a little" and how some exercise was necessary.

I once spent an entire Sunday talk listening to the speaker talk about the tenacity of a bulldog-based on the song "Jeremiah was a bulldog". When he was finished he sat down and his wife leans over to him and says "Jeremiah was a bullFrog." Nuf said.

Let me begin by saying that I read here much more than I post. I really enjoy your posts as they are well thought out and full of backup info. In this particular instance though, I have not seen from you anything specific that supports the idea that only annointed are Christian. All of your info points to different info-not a direct line claiming such. I do not believe as dubs do anymore. I faded without the hoopla because I, like many others, have too much family too wrapped up in emotional attachments to be able to see past the BS and look at what is really being taught.
That being said, please explain, if you want to, where specifically this is said. Inferences do not count as actual facts-especially in light of the comments made by Jeffro. Nothing bothers me more than having to defend the WTBS, but I don't see in anything so far that this is the case.
I make these comments with all due respect to your proven track record.

considering i have very unconventional views for the wts about blood, evolution, bible, and the gb, delivering this talk seemd quite maladroit.
Apostasy defined in the dictionary is one who turns against his religion and criticizes his former religion. Tell them that all who came into the organization and turned against their former religion (Catholic, Protestant...) are considered in the strictest definition of the word to be apostate. Then talk about how apostasy is only what it is defined as-changing religious beliefs. Technically, Jesus could be considered an apostate because he did not follow the religion of his day. His teachings were drastically different than what was the "norm". End by saying that apostasy is just a word, not a death sentence. Have fun!

if a jw is weak and misses meetings and becomes inactive, do the jw's really support the weak and are they long suffering towards them, or do they start shunning them once they start missing meetings regularly?.
I still have close friends who are witnesses. Even though I live 400 miles from them, when my family and I go visit they still are concerned me not going anymore. When we still lived there, they were always encouraging and non-judgemental. These particular friends were definitely the exception, not the rule. They will do almonst anything to help those in need and are the 1st ones to offer this help and support. They are true Christians regardless of religious affiliation. That cannot be said of most witnesses. These sisters love and concern for others goes far beyond any organizational doctrines. What makes this in teresting is that they are so active as witnesses. They are an example for ALL, both in and out of the Borg.
